CD-Rom Drive Not Working

If you cannot get your cd-rom or dvd drive to read a disk. Check the surfaces for scratches, dirt and so forth. Scratches on the top side of the disk are actually more of a problem than those on the underside. Also, bear in mind that if you are trying to access data on a CD-RW or DVD-RW, the drive must be Multi-read.
