Secure your Wireless - Would you really put your filing cabinet outside the main door of your office so everyone and anyone can "have a look in"? No, it's unlikely, but it surprises us just how many small business owners leave their wireless network insecure or not secured enough. One late Tuesday afternoon, we got a call from a distressed small business owner who inadvertently spotted a customer in his own waiting room looking through his company files from a laptop.
He was shocked. He never thought it was that easy. It is. Even if your network is "locked&qtalled and configured his "ship management" programs, got his laptop back on the ship's network, and even got a free tour of the rather noisy engine room. We said bon voyage as he and his crew set sail for New Jersey, happy in the knowledge that their computer woes were behind them.
