Power Corrupts - As the old ESB advert goes "Respect the Power of Electricity", and that applies to your computer. To illustrate our point, a business-owner, who owns an office in a residential area noticed a certain utility provider (not the ESB!) digging up the road outside. They started in the morning and were there for most of the day with their JCB, hydraulic drills, spades, and so on. At around 4pm, his computer screen flickered and then went out completely. He got up to check the lights and, sure enough, the lights were gone also. Obviously, "JCB man" had hit something. He went outside to the workmen to inform them of the problem and, about three or four hours later, the power was back on again but not his computer. He turned his system back on but nothing happened.

He assumed the computer's plug had blown its fuse, so he changed it. Still nothing happened when he turned it on though. He contacted us and told us what had happened. We replaced the internal power supply and this got theuot;, without using the right encryption-level, your network can be cracked open easily. Do you really want a competitor parked outside your commercial premises with a laptop and a spotty teenager, as they snoop through your commercially sensitive information?
