Cannot Connect to Internet

Some simple items to check when you cannot get an internet connection.

  • Is the phone line plugged securely into your wireless router?
  • Are you getting a DSL light on your modem?
  • Does your ISP use dynamic or static IP addresses?
  • How many DHCP servers does your network have? Most small business networks should only ever have one DHCP server for internet.
  • If you are using a hub, is it connected to the router?
  • Is your browser set to automatically detect network settings?
  • Verify whether your firewall blocking the connection?
  • Can other PC's on the same connection access the internet?
